RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEGAL EXPERIENCE Engages in the day-to-day implementation of the company's finance, development, investment, asset management and leasing activities.
Experienced in all aspects of commercial real estate law, including leasing, sale/leasebacks, financing, acquisitions, dispositions, title issues, zoning and development. In 25 years of practice, including over two decades at several Boston firms, represented developers and lenders, as well as corporate, institutional, municipal and nonprofit clients involved in the leasing, development, and financing of office buildings, shopping centers, retail properties, commercial and residential condominiums, and skilled nursing and assisted-living facilities nationwide. Selected a "Super Lawyer" by Boston Magazine in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Author of a chapter in the American Bar Association publication The Complete Book on Subleasing and Assignments; co-authored chapters in Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education publications Real Estate Title Practice in Massachusetts and Litigating Residential Real Estate Disputes; author of a number of articles for magazines and trade papers, including for the 2002 Innovative Practices edition of the ABA Law Practice Management Magazine.
FAVORITE SPARE TIME ACTIVITIES
1) Wilderness hiking and landscape photography; 2) watching and making film; 3) acting whenever possible; and 4) fixing anything.
FACT PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW
1) Acting at Amherst and Weston (Vermont) Summer Theater; 2) studied at Central Academy of Film Art and Drama in London; 3) studied creative writing at Amherst under novelist Robert Stone; 4) taught Buddhist and Christian forms of meditation to lawyers, judges, and Harvard Law School students.
