RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEGAL EXPERIENCE
Oversees and directs legal matters for the company. Actively involved with the structuring of National's transactions and implementation and execution of its project finance, development, investment, asset management and leasing activities.
Extensive experience, both locally and nationally, in numerous sub-specialties of real estate law, including leasing, debt and equity finance, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, and zoning and land use. While in private practice prior to joining National Development, represented a wide variety of clients in addition to National, including other developers, life insurance companies, pension fund advisors, real estate investment trusts, operators of healthcare facilities, corporations, universities and other not-for-profit institutions.

Member, Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts and New England Corporate Counsel Association; Contributor and panelist, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.

1) Traveling with family, especially hiking, attending Red Sox games and visiting major league ballparks (19 stadiums to date); and 2) Attempting to convert stodgy legal resume and description of experience into hip Dewar's style profile for company website.

1) Local Board Member, Selective Service System (Draft Board) - Nominated by the Governor of Massachusetts (August, 1983); and 2) Tax Examiner, Compliance Bureau, Massachusetts Department of Revenue (July 1983 - August 1984, Summer, 1985).
